How not to give your family food poisoning

This episode was produced in the summer of 08.  Summers in Missouri always bring to mind food safety since it’s so damn hot here.  How long can food be left out at picnics and parties?  How long can you leave meat on the counter when defrosting?  Or can you?   Find out in this episode.  I bet you’ll never look at your fridge the same again!

HI Mae, I’m new to your site and hooked! I love your shows. You are so much fun to watch. Your energy is contagious. Are you going to keep producing shows in the future?

Hi Erin and welcome to the site. Thanks so much for the kind comment.

I’m considering some options for getting the show back up again. Let’s see what happens. Thanks again!

This may sound silly but I never thought to check salad dressing bottles for expiration dates. I figured they were so loaded with preservatives we wouldn’t have to watch expiration dates that closely…

Good to know~

We can never hear enough about adoptive mothers who rock. Nice site: fun, insightful and a truly great spirit. Love the energy.

I am SO shocked my family and I aren’t dead. Almost everything you talked about we have it and it’s over the expiration. It takes forever for us to eat peanut butter but we eat it. Eggs will actually last a LONG time in the fridge if there is no crack – the key is to by AA eggs…when they just pout out if the shell – like all liquid..that’s bad….
I eat leftovers a week later and my brown sugar is probably a year old. Also Ranch dressing lasts until….it tastes bad. I know you all want to come to my house for dinner now….
