Kiss My Toilet

Today I went into the bathroom and discovered lipstick kiss prints all over the toilet seat.

Eh, no biggie. Germs from the toilet will build up their immunity.

Speaking of the creeping crud, Miss Boo is feeling better, yeah yeah!  Last night we decided to celebrate by having a rave. We broke out the glow sticks and glow necklaces and covered the kids in them, then turned off all the lights, cranked the tunes, and danced.

I wasn’t sure how Miss Boo would handle such a happy fun time. She has entered the goth phase of her life. At age five. She dresses in all black, wears black lipstick, and makes a big show of moping around and using a disinterested voice when she speaks. Miss Boo decided that waving glow sticks in a dark room was AWESOME and can she go to a real rave sometime?

We help Boo spray her hair black with pink tips and cover her entire arms in temporary tattoos. We thow preschool raves for them.  How are these kids going to rebel?  By being extreme right wing preppies??

h1n1

H1N1 looks like it spells out hiney. Which is appropriate cuz it makes you feel like ass.

Miss Boo was diagnosed as having H1N1. I have never seen her so sick.  It started as a mild cold, then went away for two days where she seemed perfectly fine. Then she developed a 105 degree fever that would not come down with Motrin.  She began vomiting, sneezing, coughing, and said her head was pounding. She was pale and lethargic. I was red faced and hyped up with worry.

Talking to Boo’s doctor helped calm my fears. H1N1 is spreading rapidly and there isn’t much that can be done. A person sheds the virus for 72 hours without showing any symptoms. As long as someone doesn’t have a medical condition they should get through H1n1 just fine. Nothing is being given to treat h1n1 for healthy children over 2 in this area of the country where it is so widespread. The only thing we can do is keep her comfortable and repeat the steps if the Almost Twins or Matt or I get sick.

I really did intend on coming back here with more vlog posts and much hilarity and I really will once everyone is healthy again!

I ROCK!

me-climbingThat’s me! Climbing a rock wall! It was all part of a challenge from the Subway Lose A Ton competition.  Sadly a few steps later I lost my grip and fell backwards.  Sad because I lost the challenge but fun because I was attached to a line that lowered me quickly to the ground where I landed with a thud on my butt.  Only thing hurt was my pride. I was so close to the immunity flag!

There’s going to be a lot more of me on this here website in the coming weeks. More blogging, vlogs, and some episodes of the comedy show. I miss this place. I miss you. Hug?

Miss Boo-isms

Five year old Miss Boo has always had a unique way of looking at the world.

Matt and I were discussing flu shots over dinner.  Boo gasped, gave me an accusatory look, and said, “Mom! You said the N Word!”

I looked back with surprise. “I did?”

“Yeah,” she said, eyes wide. “Needle!”

The other day she decided on her new look. “Mom. My look is part goth, part glam. I want to be scary but I still want to be pretty. When I am goth I am to be called Na. That’s my goth name. Now, where’s the black lipstick?”

It will be difficult for Boo to rebel when her parents are the ones who happily apply the black lipstick and ask if she wants blue streaks in her hair.

NOt to be outdone, Boo’s little sister Av is also clever with words.  There’s an exercise called burpees where you drop to the ground and thrust your legs behind you, stand up and then leap into the air.  Av was attempting to do burpees and I laughed and said, “Av, you’re a burpee girl!”  She nodded and replied, “I’m also a tootie girl.” Then she made fart noises.

I’ve made the decision to remain silent about what’s happening with me and Hollywood. I just feel it’s an aspect of my life I want to keep to myself this time around.  Oh that’s no fun!  I know. But it’s necessary. For the sake of any pending deals and for my sanity!
